Overview
Of Training Modules
Course
Title: Diversity Awareness
Broadly, this course
seeks to provide participants with the opportunity to investigate the
concepts of diversity, and managing diversity and analyse the influences
that may undermine the implementation of an effective policy.
Through a process of
self-discovery and disclosure, participants are encouraged to identify how
their own perceptions influence decisions and judgements they make about
colleagues and about clients and client groups.
The course provides a foundation upon which individuals and organisations
can develop an approach to diversity.
By introducing models
and approaches to diversity, participants will be able to:
 |
Recognise what
influences will encourage or discourage such an approach
|
 |
Identify the rationality of their perceptions and judgements.
|
 |
Describe the process of creating an organisational
culture that values diversity
|
 |
Analyse how and where potential barriers are likely to arise.
